Stay Stress Free

TGIF!

I don't know about you, but this week has been a stressful one for me.  Although I was busy,  I tried very hard to make it to the gym everyday and eat healthy.  Stress eating is a big issue for some people and it is important to not let it get that far.  Working out can actually help increase stress and help you stay calm.  It is also a good way to take a break from work.  Go to the gym for 30 minutes to an hour.  Do  little walking/running to help get your mind off of work and think about other stuff.  Some people may not have time for the gym with all the work stye have going on, but then it is important to keep eating healthy so you do not let yourself go too much.  Stress eating can be hard to stay away from, but it as easy way to get off track and be unhealthy.  Take an alternate route: eat an apple, have some whole grain tortilla chips, etc.  And keep drinking your water!  It is a busy time for all but make sure you are still keeping your body and mind healthy, you will feel much better about yourself on a regular basis!  It is also important you are getting your sleep.  This is more important to healthy living than people think!

Do A Little Yoga!

I am sure many of you have heard of 'yoga' and if not then you are missing out.  Yoga has become a very popular exercise.  It is personally one of my favorite.  Yoga is a great way to work your mind, body, and soul.  It is a great way to strengthen your muscles and also work on your flexibility.  It is also used to help people stay calm and work on being at peace with themselves.  Yoga can either be an intense workout, or a calm exercise.  No matter what you use yoga for, it is overall very good for your body and your mind!

Weekly Motivation

Hello Again!

I hope everyone was able to get through their weekends with out my post, but I had a very busy weekend.  And I will be honest, I did not eat the healthiest and I could have worked out more than I did.  So I would like to tally all that it is okay to fall off track sometimes.  Sometimes we just get too busy and we may not find the time to workout and grabbing a sandwich from Sheetz may be easier than making a healthy dinner at home.  But the important thing to learn from weekends like this are to get back on track and get back into our healthy habits.  Easter is coming and for me that means big family dinners.  I am going to get back on track this week.  I will workout everyday, I will eat healthy, and I will not have any cheat days.  Together we can all make it through another week by falling our diets and eating healthy.  If I can do it, you can too!

Happy Spring!

Happy First Day of Spring Everyone!

It is Spring now which means we are one season away from Summer!  Stop putting off exercising and eating healthy and making healthy decisions.  Don't you want to be happy this year strutting your stuff on the beach in a tiny little bikini?  Well it is time to kick your butt into shape.  Go enjoy this beautiful Spring weather, go for a walk and exercise and enjoy yourself at the same time.  Make a fresh fruit salad to enjoy on a nice Spring night.  Just stop making excuses this season.  It is time to get serious and get fit!

Get 'thinspired'

Do not work out because you hate your body, work out because you love it.

This is a piece of advice that I like to live by.  It is simple and short, but it gets to the point.  It is important to love your body, and know that is why you workout and keep it healthy.  It is not always about having a 6 pack, and having big muscles.  It is important to be health on the inside, and have a health mind.  Live by these words and hopefully that will motivate you to keep on going and stay healthy!

Have a Happy Friday, and a wonderful weekend/week ahead!

Sunday Motivation

Happy Sunday!

I decided not to post on Friday this week so I can give a little motivation on this Sunday afternoon.  Tomorrow ins Monday and I do not think anyone actually enjoys this day of the week.  That is why it is important to take this Sunday to relax and prepare yourself for the next week to come.  Start the week off right tomorrow by working out and eating healthy.  I know whenever I start the week off well, I usually finish it on a good note also.  If I have a bad Monday, that usually sets me up for a bad week.  My advice to you is to wake up tomorrow morning, go about your daily routine, but make sure you fit in a good workout.  This will make your day even better, or if you are having a bad Monday, hopefully it will make your day a little better!  Trust me, if you start the week off good tomorrow, your week will probably go well.  Have a wonderful week and check back in next Friday for some more motivational words on how to stay healthy and happy!

Valentines Day Tip

So we all know tomorrow is Valentine's Day and that means lots and lots of chocolate, which is my favorite part about this holiday.  But we all known that milk chocolate is not the healthiest treat.  That is why you should stick to dark chocolate during this V-day.  Here are some facts about milk chocolate vs. dark chocolate:

Half a bar of dark chocolate has fewer carbs compared to half a bar of milk chocolate.  Dark chocolate also has half the sugar, four times the fiber, more iron levels, and more caffeine (which may be bad for some, but for me that is a plus).

It is clearly no secret that dark chocolate is healthier for you, and it has been very prominent in the news lately.  So whether someone else is buying you chocolate or you are buying yourself chocolate on this Valentine's Day, remember to stick to dark chocolate to stay  bit healthier.  Also, keep up the healthy eating and daily exercise during the week!

Enjoy the weekend everyone!
